Suzuki prices Vitara Turbo Hybrid for Oz
The Japanese importer says the Vitara Turbo Hybrid is a “natural evolution” of the compact SUV range, promising enhanced fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and refined on-road performance.
Power comes from Suzuki’s turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a single 48-volt electric motor and lithium-ion battery to assist acceleration and capture energy while braking, and “enhance overall efficiency without any external charging”.
The driveline is available in combination with front- or all-wheel drive configurations, the latter offering several drive modes said to reinforce the model’s off-road credentials.
Both variants run a “six stage automatic transmission” which is likely a six-speed torque-converter unit carried over from the regular Vitara Turbo.
All-wheel disc brakes, electrically assisted steering, and the combination of a MacPherson strut front and torsion beam rear suspension arrangement.
Suzuki quotes a total system output of 80kW/235Nm for both versions of the Vitara Turbo Hybrid with fuel consumption of 5.8 litres per 100 kilometres for front-drive variants and 5.9L/100km for the all-wheel drive. Respective CO2 emissions are 129-130g/km and 137-139g/km.
Vitara Turbo variants without the mild hybrid tech consume 5.9L/100km (FWD) and 6.2L/100km (AWD).
Depending on variant, kerb weight is listed between 1245kg and 1275kg, payload figure ranges from 435kg to 475kg, braked towing capacity is 1200kg and fuel tank volume is 47 litres (requiring a minimum of 95 RON premium unleaded).
Both variants run 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 215/55 series tyres.
Feature highlights across the Vitara Turbo Hybrid range include dusk-sensing LED exterior lighting, rear privacy glass, a self-dimming rear-view mirror, leather-wrapped steering wheel, climate control, four-speaker sound, fabric upholstery, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
In addition to all-wheel drive, the high-grade Allgrip variant adds a panoramic sunroof, six-speaker sound, a larger 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and synthetic leather upholstery.
Both grades include safety features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, front and rear acoustic parking sensors, lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, a reversing camera, and six airbags.
The Vitara Turbo Hybrid will be offered in white paint as standard with Titan Grey and Cosmic Black metallic hues available as a $745 option. The Vitara Turbo Hybrid Allgrip adds the option of two-tone paints – including Savanna Ivory over Cosmic Black and Ice Greyish Blue over Cosmic Black – as a $1345 option.
As elsewhere in the Suzuki Australia line-up, the Vitara Turbo Hybrid is backed by a five-year factory warranty with included capped-price scheduled servicing.
Service intervals are set at 12 months or 10,000km (whichever comes first) with maintenance pricing ranging from $329 through to $539 depending on the extent of service required.
The Suzuki Vitara Turbo Hybrid joins the existing petrol-powered range (as priced below), and will be accompanied by an all-electric version from June 2026.
